I want to grade my mentee’s ePortfolio, but I get an “Access Denied” error

Most “Access Denied” issues are caused by not being logged into MAHARA before opening the link. Always ensure your MAHARA session is active first.

This issue usually occurs when the ePortfolio link is not opened correctly, especially when it is submitted through the eLearn portal submission link.

🔍 Why does this happen?

The “Access Denied” error appears when:

You are not logged in to MAHARA, or
The ePortfolio link is opened without an active MAHARA session

Way to Access and View Your Mentee’s ePortfolio

Follow these steps carefully:

Log in to the Mahara platform **as usual. ⚠️ **Important: Keep this Mahara tab open throughout your grading session.
Open a new browser tab or window, and log in to the eLearn portal and access the ePortfolio Submission section.
Locate your mentee’s submission.
Copy the ePortfolio link provided by your mentee.
Open another new tab, paste the link, and press Enter.
You should now be able to view and grade the ePortfolio successfully.
