Will videos from Microsoft Stream work on mobile devices?
Microsoft has been transitioning from the old Stream (Classic) platform to a new model where videos are stored directly in SharePoint, OneDrive, or Teams. This change improves integration but also means that: The Stream app is no longer supported.
📱 Supported ways to watch on mobile
- Mobile browsers:
You can open Stream videos in browsers like Chrome, Safari, or Edge on your phone or tablet.
- Microsoft 365 / Office apps:
Since Stream (on SharePoint) is now integrated with Microsoft 365, videos can be viewed inside apps like:
- SharePoint
- OneDrive
- Teams
- Microsoft Teams (recommended):
If the video is shared in Teams, you can easily watch it directly in the Teams mobile app.
