How to sign in and sign out of Microsoft Teams using your IMU account

For IMU students and staff


Sign in

  1. Open the Microsoft Teams app, or go to teams.microsoft.com.
  2. Enter your IMU Microsoft 365 email address and select Next.
  3. If prompted to choose an account type, select Work or school account.
  4. Follow the IMU single sign-on (SSO) prompts using your IMU credentials. Complete any additional verification requested on screen.
  5. When Teams opens, select your profile picture at the top right and check that your IMU account is displayed. Microsoft notes that the sign-in process may include additional verification according to the organisation’s settings.

Sign out

  1. Select your profile picture at the top right of Teams.
  2. Select Sign out.


On a phone: Open Teams, tap More → Settings → Sign out.


If your personal account opens instead: Select your profile picture and switch to your IMU account, or sign out and sign in again with your IMU Microsoft 365 email address. Signing out of Teams on one device does not sign you out on your other devices


If your IMU credentials are rejected or your account does not appear in Teams, contact the IMU IT Helpdesk at helpdesk@imu.edu.my
