# Which web browsers does Microsoft Clipchamp support (for video editor)?

The **Microsoft Clipchamp video editor** works best in 
* [Microsoft Edge](https://microsoft.com/edge)
* [Google Chrome](https://google.com/chrome/)
on laptop or desktop Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. It also runs on Chromebooks and as a desktop app in Windows 10 and 11.

Clipchamp service pushes web browsers to their limits by using many newer technologies. 

||| Different browsers support these technologies to a varying degree, sometimes not at all. This is why Clipchamp doesn't work in some browsers such as Safari and Firefox at this stage.

## Chromium-based browsers on desktop

Clipchamp video editor is currently supported in **Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers** on desktop and laptop computers.

This includes browsers such as [Brave](https://brave.com/), however, in Brave you might see an error notification about "*unsupported hardware or outdated Chrome version*". If this happens, it may be due to the anti-fingerprinting feature in the Brave Shields. You can try the following to solve things.
* Click the *lion* icon to the right of the address bar,
* Temporarily allow fingerprinting on the Clipchamp page.

## iOS on mobile

The Clipchamp [mobile app](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-clipchamp/id1503463881) currently works on iOS devices (iOS 14 and above). To use the full app functionality, Microsoft recommend an iPhone X or above.

The Clipchamp desktop editor does not work in mobile browsers on phones or tablets.
