# How to upload a file to OneDrive

**For students and lecturers using an IMU Microsoft account**
1. Open [OneDrive](https://onedrive.com) and sign in with your IMU account.
2. Open the folder where you want to keep the file.
3. Click **Upload**, choose **Files**, then select the file from your computer and click **Open**. You can also drag a file from your computer into the OneDrive page.
4. Wait for the upload to finish. Check that the file appears in the folder, then open it to confirm you uploaded the correct version.

**If you need to submit a OneDrive link in eLearn:** Uploading the file does not submit your assignment. Follow the assignment instructions to [share the file](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/share-files-and-folders-in-microsoft-onedrive?utm_source=chatgpt.com), paste the link into eLearn, and complete any required **Submit assignment** step.

||| Follow IMU’s current IT and data protection requirements when storing or sharing files. Check the link permissions before sharing assessment work or information about other people.
