# How do I change my profile picture in the MAHARA?


| Profile pictures must be between 16 × 16 pixels and 1024 × 1024 pixels in size. For best results, use a square image (equal width and height).

You can update your profile picture in the MAHARA platform by following these simple steps:


###### Steps to Change Your Profile Picture

1. Log in to the MAHARA platform as usual.
2. On your dashboard, click the button next to your current profile picture.
3. Select **“Profile pictures”** from the options provided.
4. In the Upload profile picture section, click the **“Choose file”** button to select an image from your device.
5. After selecting your desired picture, click the **“Upload”** button to save the changes.  It is uploaded to the images folder in your Files area. 
6. Your picture appears in the list of profile pictures. You see a preview of it under the Image column.
7. Click the "**Set default"** button to make your selected picture the default one.
